Every year, the winged hourglass brand releases new models in the Longines Elegant collection, a collection inspired by innovative materials and a minimalist design. Here is a look at the collection and its greatest attributes.
A sleek design
There are two case sizes: one measuring 34.5 mm and the other, 39 mm. The Roman numerals and other elements on the dial feature a contemporary, on-trend design. The dials come in several versions: matte white with painted Roman numerals; striped silver with diamond hour markers; and white mother-of-pearl with diamond hour markers. For the first time, the brand’s straps are made from taupe or black vegetable material. The exterior is made out of recycled apple waste, while the lining is recycled corn rubber. You will be amazed at the quality of the strap material, which looks and feels very much like traditional leather. You also have the option of changing the strap for a steel bracelet. In addition to its contemporary design, the timepiece is also technically advanced.
A state-of-the-art movement
The large distance between centres makes it possible to shift the small seconds counter away from the central axis, adding even more character to this range. Calibre L891.5 was exclusively developed for Longines. The calibre is fitted with a hairspring made out of silicon, an ultra-lightweight material that is resistant to corrosion, temperate changes and magnetic fields. In terms of water resistance, you can immerse your watch to a depth of 30 metres without damaging it.
