Blancpain’s commitment to protecting the oceans is nothing new. Indeed, since 2015, the brand has been a major supporter of the cause. Blancpain celebrates this passion for the underwater world with its legendary Fifty Fathoms created in 1953 and brought up to date.

The underwater world and Blancpain

A love story that began in the early days of the watchmaker and has intensified over time.

Since 2013

In 2013, Blancpain organised the “Oceans” exhibition in New York City. The exhibition presented images taken from the Edition Fifty Fathoms books as well as photos from the Pristine Seas and Gombessa expeditions. Owing to the event’s success, the United Nations sought to continue with this photo competition every year. Since 2015, the brand has been a major supporter of this important event. An unwavering bond has formed and grows stronger year after year with explorers, environmentalists, photographers and scientists.

In 2021

This year, Blancpain is proud of its role as presenting partner to United Nations World Oceans Day, an event hosted by the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS) in partnership with Oceanic Global. Through underwater photography, Blancpain seeks to raise awareness of the extraordinary beauty of our ocean, prompting the public to think about it and ways to protect it.

The Fifty Fathoms

Embodying Blancpain’s love for the marine world, the Fifty Fathoms was the first modern diving watch. Today, the Fifty Fathoms collection retains all the essential characteristics of its ancestors. The brand is aware of the risks and requirements for divers and sought to stretch the limits through the use of innovative materials and technical solutions. This automatic watch features a 45 mm case, is water resistant to 300 meters and builds up a 120-hour power reserve. A bold and sporty timepiece for diving enthusiasts.

Holidays often go hand in hand with outdoor dining. Summer is the perfect season to share memorable times with friends and family over a good meal. Whether it’s lunch under the shade of an olive tree or a meal on the seaside, your table should be at its finest during this beautiful season. Here is our advice for creating a wonderful spread and an exceptional summer atmosphere to go with it.

Mismatch to create a harmonious feel

Goodbye to decorations that are overly uniform; it’s time to break things up. Mismatching is that special touch that gives a table its charm. No fuss between friends, no fuss on the table! Completely mismatched tableware makes for an extremely attractive result. Don’t hesitate to combine different colours, shapes and materials. Perfect for an unforgettable time with friends.

Natural decoration

This is definitely this year’s trend. Bamboo, burlap, macramé, raffia….so many natural materials that will enhance your table and give it a cocooning feel. Add a few candles and a bouquet for an intimate atmosphere.

Seashells and crustaceans…

The timeless pairing of blue and white is always a safe bet ! Marine motifs will brighten up your table on white furniture. What’s better than feeling like you're eating with your toes in the sand ? Add some scraps, seashells, fishing nets… and this is the perfect table for your guests !

Love, that indescribable feeling. Extremely difficult to express in words. Sometimes it is easier to say what we mean with a gift. Jewellery is at the top of the list when it comes to gifts that bring joy. Yet not all stones have the same meaning. Here is our advice for choosing the perfect stone for your dearly beloved.

The magic and emotions of stones

Every gemstone is special. They all symbolise something, something that is often unknown. Diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds are four gemstones that are extremely popular in the world of jewellery. A closer look at these stones.

The diamond, a symbol of purity

The diamond is the most coveted and widely gifted gemstone in the world, particularly for engagements. It symbolises purity, perfection and strength. Do you want to express your virtuousness and your commitment to another person? This stone is undoubtedly the one for you!

The sapphire as a talisman

Blue sapphire is the symbol of immortality, purity and wisdom. Long worn as a talisman, this gemstone was intended to protect those who wore it. It exists in different colours. Indeed, there are also yellow and green sapphires. Like the diamond, the sapphire is also an excellent gemstone for an engagement.

The ruby, the ultimate symbol

The ruby will allow you to express the fiery love burning within you. A symbol of courage, love and passion, it will move the heart of your other half. This stone is one of the rarest and is suitable for strong personalities. It is able to combat depression as well as fatigue.

The emerald, the happiness stone

Previously known as the devil’s stone, the emerald is now a highly regarded gemstone. It comes in different shades of green depending on where it is from. The emerald represents true love, happiness, beauty and eternal youth.
