Your jewels follow you everywhere, they are beautiful, but how to keep their shine through the years? Maintaining jewellery is an art, we are here to guide you according to the type of creations you wear. Discover all our advice to keep your jewellery as beautiful as on the first day.

Tips for everyday life

Your jewellery reflects the way you treat it on a daily basis. The first thing to do to preserve your jewellery over the long term is to take care of it every day. We therefore advise you not to wear your jewellery during sports or water activities. Before going to bed, remove them and store them carefully in a box to avoid any unfortunate fall.

Clean your platinum jewellery

Platinum is one of the king materials in the jewellery world. It is considered to be strong and shiny. However, it does require a little maintenance to keep its shine. To clean them yourself, simply soak them in warm, soapy water for an hour, then rinse them with clean water and dry them gently with a soft, dry cloth. For professional care, contact your jeweller who can polish your jewellery to make it as beautiful as it was when it was first worn. This process is recommended approximately every two years.

Clean your silver jewellery

Silver is more sensitive than platinum and requires more care, as the material is known to oxidise and darken over time. Silver can be cleaned with a suede or chamois cloth. You can gently rub your jewellery with specific silver cleaning products. Your silver jewellery will sparkle!

Clean your gold jewellery

Gold is a fairly stable metal, but it can also tend to darken if you wear your jewellery every day. To clean your gold jewellery, immerse it in warm, soapy water for an hour, then brush it with a soft brush. Afterwards, dry them with a soft, dry cloth to avoid streaks.

Your white gold jewellery can be cleaned by your jeweller with an annual rhodium plating.

The SeaQ is evolving and this year Glashütte Original has made a brand new chronograph version. Discover this luxury diver in our article.

The first diving chronograph with a difference

The SeaQ is a model that was born in 2019, inspired by the Spezialist Typ RP TS 200 of the year 1969 and by the Panorama Date version. Glashütte decided to keep its diver identity while adding a chronograph function. For this new edition, the German watchmaker has opted for a steel case modelled on the Panorama Date model. This imposing case measures 43,2 mm in diameter and is quite thick (16,95mm). Thanks to its screwed back and crown, the watch is waterproof to 300 metres and shockproof. The midnight blue sunray dial is accompanied by a unidirectional ceramic bezel.

A manufacture movement completed by a "flyback" function

It is in the heart of the village of Glashütte, Germany, that the automatic manufacture movement is designed. The 37-23 calibre is a column-wheel chronograph equipped with a flyback function. It has a frequency of 4 Hz and a weekend proof power reserve of 70 hours. It is equipped with a silicon balance-spring ensuring significant resistance to magnetic fields.

To discover it, we invite you to visit our boutique.
