Owning a watch and keeping it is like having a long love affair. More often than not, our watch is the apple of our eye. It brings up memories, emotions and sometimes even nostalgia. To ensure that this exceptional object does not lose its shine over time, it is important to take good care of it. That is why, at Molitor, we wanted to give you a bit of help in this process.
Not all models need to be cared for in the same way. Be sure to adapt cleaning to the materials and features of your timepiece.
The first step is to check that all of the parts are properly screwed down. Once you’ve done so, simply scrub the case gently with a soft soapy brush. Then rinse it with clean water and wipe it dry with a soft cloth.
If your case is not water-resistant, remove the strap and use a soft damp cloth to clean it. When the case is slightly damp, use a soft brush to clean the recesses. Then dry it with a soft cloth.
Straps come in a range of options, all of which need to be cared for differently. Indeed, rubber and leather do not react to cleaning with water in the same way. Here are our tips.
Both of these materials fear moisture, which is why they should be cleaned by rubbing them gently with a soft cloth, ensuring that they last longer.
Rubber straps are very easy to care for. Soapy water and a bit of elbow grease is all you need to clean them.
Lastly, a steel bracelet should be cared for in the same way as a water-resistant case. A soft brush for cleaning and a soft cloth for drying.
